Sinigang Na Hipon

Tried cooking again as Mamita is not feeling well.

Perhaps a tasty and lightly sour soup could help Mamita to eat and bring back her appetite.

There are a lot of different ways of cooking sinigang, beef/pork/chicken/fish were used as the primary ingredient in this yummy tamarind sour soup. However, shrimp is my favorite as this gives some little sweetness to the tamarind sour soup.

INGREDIENTS

4 cups water(tubig)
2 pcs onions (sibuyas), quartered
2 pcs tomatoes (kamatis), quartered
1 pc green chili (sili pansigang)
1⁄4 kg shrimp, trimmed
1 pack Knorr Sinigang sa Sampalok Original 20g
1⁄4 pc Radish (labanos), sliced
4 pcs young Lady Fingers (okra)
1 pc of Eggplant (talong)
1 cup long beans (sitaw), sliced
1 bundle kangkong, sliced
2 tablespoons fish sauce (patis)

Now let's start cooking!!!

I made the easiest way to cook all the vegetables together except the kangkong as these will be the last ingredients to be put in your pot.

1. Gather all the veggies in a pot, pour the water and place it over the stove and start the fire.

2. Start off by bringing the veggies all together to a boil and until tender.

3. Put the tamarind after a few minutes, place the shrimps let it simmer for 2 minutes.

4. Pour the patis for tasting then followed by the kankong. Make the kangkong under all the veggies and wait for it to simmer for 2 more minutes.

5. Serve and enjoy!
