iStariray23 Photos- Cold Weather

Felt a soft, warm little furry friend down there...

Cookie finding some warmth and comfort. . .

"A cat's presence can fill a room with warmth, laughter, and endless cuddles."

"Cats are the silent guardians of our homes, warding off negative energies with their mystical aura."

"A cat's love is gentle, unconditional, and forever imprinted on our souls."

"Cats are creatures of enchantment, weaving magic into our lives with every flick of the tail."

Travel_SM Southmall Christmas Décor

Once again SM Southmall Christmas décor did not disappoint.

One of the most awaited events that I am always looking forward to going here in this mall is their Christmas lantern décor.

And this year their theme is snow reindeer gazing at the snow-covered forest with dwarfs playing around.

St. John Don Bosco Church Makati

I normally passed by this church upon entering Makati from the south skyway. And indeed fascinated by its arched roof that covered the church.

It was only the other day when we decided to drop by and visit to see the church's interior. I won't forget that one sunny Sunday almost getting dark when we went to see this place.

There are a lot of people going in and out of the church gate since it is a Sunday and the area is indeed busy.

As I came closer to the church, my eyes were captivated by the interior design. It's dome is like a giant crusty waffle ceiling perfectly cooked and ready to eat. The altar was all lighted and with all the glitter as it was during high mass when we arrived.

I took photos of course lots of them actually that will definitely share here in my blog😊.

St. John Bosco Church, located in Makati City, is a stunning place of worship that holds great historical and cultural significance. Named after Saint John Bosco, also known as Don Bosco, the church follows its mission of supporting and guiding young people.

One of the unique features of the St. John Bosco Church is its iconic Waffle Dome. The Waffle Dome is a structural element that distinguishes this church from others, as it resembles a waffle-shaped design with intricate patterns. This dome adds a touch of modernity to the church's architecture while still maintaining a sense of reverence and spirituality.

The Waffle Dome is not only visually striking but also serves a functional purpose. It allows natural light to filter through, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere within the church. Additionally, its design helps with the effective distribution of sound during religious ceremonies, ensuring that everyone can hear and participate fully in the mass. The dome truly adds a unique and memorable touch to the overall ambiance of St. John Bosco Church.

This remarkable architectural feature, combined with the church's rich history and dedication to serving the community, makes St. John Bosco Church a cherished place of worship for both locals and visitors alike.

Kalikasan Homes / Anito Employees Condominium

Located in the heart of Las Piñas City, along Naga Road, inside Mapayapa Village there lies this Kalikasan Homes also known as the Anito Employees Condominium.

This was a housing project for the employees of Anito Group of Companies built in the early '90s.
Four buildings with four floors and each unit size are approximately 36 sqm. for the 2nd floor up to the 4th floor. Ground floor units are for fortunate managers and employees who were able to sign the earliest to acquire.

These units were exclusive for employees only and later on, offered to outsiders as a rentee. The facade of the building was made by Romeo Ramos head designer of Anito Group of Companies way back then. He is the mind behind the signage for the Anito Group of companies logo of a bitten apple with a face of a man and a woman.

We transferred here from Angono Rizal in the summer of 1993 to start anew. This place was not crowded like now. You know the faces of people from one building to another. They were your playmates, classmates, and sometimes enemies.

Life here was good, you knew each other and can definitely talk, and share food with your next-door neighbor. Before those buildings, wall paints faded and those ceilings became dilapidated KYM was there helping with the community.

We shared projects with the Homeowners every week. The youth in this area meet up to discuss new possible projects that we could give. Those were the days,  we do a potluck for our lunch while hanging out in the multi-purpose hall that serves as our place. Then we will play Patintero/tubig-tubigan and Tagu-taguan as the night unfolds before our eyes...

Gone are those days. . .

Taken this from the 1st floor of building 1 during the rainy season.

The water level went up from the waist up to the chest due to the high tide that day.

Fast forward to 2019...., This is Kalikasan Homes right now...

Still livable despite old buildings with washed-out paint and rusty grills and ground floor extension.

Some informal settlers also occupy the place and only a handful of Anito Employees stayed and still live in this place.

And yes, I grew up in this place.

This place still holds special childhood memory of mine that I will forever cherish as I grew old and gray.

I owned a unit located on the ground floor however I do not live in this place anymore yet I still visit this place of my childhood past.
