“Flight Segment Status Codes”

By the way, I have been working in the travel industry for more than a decade now, and let me share with you some tips a traveler or frequent traveler should know. These are some flight segment status codes that are reflected on your ticket or into your online booking that will guide you in your flight. However, this would be of great help for Travel Agents who wanted to widen their knowledge in reading a passenger's ticket.

BK=HOLDS CONFIRMED - USED ONLY BY AUTOMATED ACCOUNTS FOR OA SEGS DOES GENERATE A TELETYPE MSG UPON CANCELLATION. CANNOT BE USED TO GENERATE PTA,S.

BL=FLT WAITLISTED DIRECTLY WITH CARRIER NO MSG GENERATED EXCEPT FOR CANCELLATION.

BR=BOARDING PASSES HAVE BEEN RUN.

CG=PURCHASED BUSINESS, BOARDED IN FIRST OR COACH CLASS.

PN=PENDING NEED - MESSAGE PREVIOUSLY SENT TO OA, AWAITING REPLY. SABRE WILL AUTOMATICALLY RESEND REQUESTS ONE TIME IF THERE IS NO RESPONSE WITHIN 24 HOURS. 

PS=POSITIVE SPACE. A 7PS ENTRY IN THE PNR PERMITS THE AIRPORT DEPARTURE SYSTEM TO CHANGE SEGMENT STATUS TO -PS- DURING THE POST-DEPARTURE PROCESS. THE DEPARTURE PROCESS SYSTEM MAY BE EITHER NCI OR PCS.

PU=PASSIVE SEGMENT UPDATE WITH TICKET NUMBER. INBOUND TTY ONLY.

RM=PRE-REMOVED, CAN NOT BE REINSTATED

RQ=ON REQUEST, APPEARS ON PASSENGER TICKET FOR ANY SEGMENT NOT CONFIRMED.

RQ=Waitlisted

RR=RECONFIRMED - PASSENGER HAS PHONED AND RECONFIRMED RESERVATIONS.

SA=Standby Confirmed for AA

SB=PASSENGER BOARDED AS STANDBY

SC=HOST SCHEDULE CHANGE, SHOWS NEW SEGMENT. CHANGE SEGMENT STATUS TO HK.
Schedule Change- the new flight segment that the itinerary was changed to

SQ=SPACE/SERVICE REQUESTED REPLY ONLY IF NOT AVAILABLE.

ZS=CODE SHARE FLIGHT SALE. INCOMING MSG FROM ANY CARRIER WITH CODESHARE AUTOMATION.
