Cong Dadong Dam

Went for a ride today and visited the Cong Dadong Dam at the foot of Mt. Arayat of Pampanga. We are actually near the boundary of Pampanga and Nueva Ecija to be exact.

The dam is isolated in the middle of agricultural lands that benefited from this. I first saw this dam in the movie "100 Tula para kay Stella". I was fascinated by the place and found it beautiful and romantic as the scene from there was taking place on a gloomy day under light rain showers 💧. Indeed it is so lovely and very romantic for me.

Stella and Fidel were positioned in the middle of the dam exchanging lines and as the camera moved from the side of Stella, I could see the beautiful Mt. Arayat from a distance witnessing the love story of Stella and Fidel. And it was so Wow for me and kept on wandering to be in that very place where Stella and Fidel were. The view indeed for me was so amazing, lovely, tranquil, and peaceful.

After 2 years of watching that movie, I was there 01MAY2019 Thursday in the middle of the afternoon. Under the scorching heat of the summer sun at 12:05 PM. I just can't believe I was in front of the dam that I saw in my favorite movie.

Such a lovely view to behold, can you imagine that this is the very view on your way to Cong Dadong Dam? Indeed so beautiful. This is Mt. Arayat of Pampanga from a distance.

Half of the way to that dam was concreted while the other half was still soil. I was wondering if it'll be muddy going to the dam on those rainy days.

iStariray23 Photos - Greenery

Saw these lovely little flowers growing on the street side out from the cracked cemented pathways.

Indeed life grows where you least expect it.

It bears flowers even without anybody who watered, looks after, and takes care of them.

"A sprout reminds us to appreciate the simplicity of life's beginnings, for it is in the smallest moments that we often find the greatest joy."

"Just as a little plant sprout seeks nourishment from the soil, we too must surround ourselves with positivity and nurturing environments to thrive."

Water lilies in Sycip Park

Love that greenery floating inside a rock basin.

Legs

When you are so lonely after a heartbreak and tried to find some sort of bliss taking pictures of your own legs while riding a tricycle home...

"Legs are not just limbs that carry us;
they are the wings that give us the freedom to explore the world."

and yeah, this is just one of my many iStariray moments....

Washington Sycip Park at Dark

Napadaan at tumambay sandali...

Sycip Park is indeed lovely in the dark thus making me take photos again...

"Parks are bridges that connect communities, where strangers become neighbors and the diversity of humanity finds common ground in the shared love for nature."

"Parks are the guardians of serenity, protecting us from the chaotic demands of life, bathing us in tranquility, and reminding us to find balance amidst the whirlwind."

"Parks are nature's embrace, offering respite to weary bodies and thirsty souls, while whispering tales of growth, resilience, and the cycle of life."

"A bench in a park is a seat of solace, offering comfort to those who seek a moment of respite, a place to gather their thoughts and find strength anew."

Menu_Adobong Pusit

Like any traditional Adobo dish, Pusit (Squid) can also cook as the main ingredients of your Adobo. I remembered my Mita cooked this kind of dish using Pusit Lumot or Itlugan as what she called it. I liked the Pusit Itlugan more as this is yummier and looks liked little sausages or should I say it like a pregnant squid when cooked.

Another thing that makes my Adobong Pusit different is that I put more garlic and onions into it, and to lessen the fishy odor or lansa I put a lot of ginger.

I saw several ways on how you cook Adobong Pusit and I go with the traditional way of cooking it.

Ingredients:

1/2 kilo of Pusit (Squid) Lumot | Itlugan | cleaned | reserve ink- I prefer Itlugan because there are smaller no need to cut them. They were just bite-size and tastier when cooked plus they looked so cute 😊

4 cloves of garlic | Minced

4 pieces medium onions | chopped

4 pieces of bay leaves

2 tbsp vegetable oil

1 finger of ginger medium

1/4 vinegar

1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper

1 small pack of Maggi Magic Sarap to taste

garlic gloves | onions | ginger

chopped garlic, onions, and ginger

bay leaves

Black pepper
Directions:

  1. Heat pan and pour cooking oil
  2. Put the garlic, cook, until golden brown then put the onions, set aside in the pan, and fry the ginger.
  3. Wait until the aroma has been released and then put the squids in the pan and stir.
  4. Stir little by little until those lovely squids release their own water. By the way, I will not put any water in this because those squids releases it's own juice while being heated and cooked.
  5. Put those dried bay leaves in as well as the ground pepper, stir, wait until it simmers a little.
  6. Put vinegar, then magic sarap to taste. Let it simmer and wait until tender.
Voila!!! you have your Adobong squid ready to eat😋😊😋

garlic, onions, and ginger all being sauteed'

Stir the quids one at a time until it releases it own water

Bay Leaves olah!!!!

Review_Lucky Bunny Milk Tea Cafe

Our travel from Mt. Arayat Pampanga going to Calaba Nueva Ecija made us so thirsty.

We saw this newly opened milk tea along the road of Cabiao Nueva Ecija and made a quick stop to try any flavor of their milk tea.

I haven't seen any milk tea around Calaba, San Isidro, Santo Cristo, and even in San Antonio. Maybe there is one however I am unaware of. So when this cafe caught my eye we quickly made a stop and ordered their specialty milk tea.

Its a good thing, it does not disappoint😋😊
My daughter and I were milk tea lovers and indeed could point out any distinct taste in our drinks. She thumbs up for me and smiled upon her 1st taste indeed will come back and try the other drink listed on their menu.

Likes:

  • Good cafe location, very accessible, just along a major road
  • The ambiance was comfy, and looks very inviting
  • A good place to hang out and I kinda liked the idea of not having wifi caused this will really make you converse with your chums.
  • I liked their milk tea selections and other available drinks like fruit juices
  • Love their re-usable tumbler very earth-friendly
  • Price is competitive
  • Tables and floors were clean and well kept
  • Love your Post-it message wall
  • The staff were all accommodating and approachable

Dislikes:

  • No Parking Space is Available
