RFC Las Piñas

🎢 RFC Las Piñas: From Childhood Landmark to Fading Memory

Once upon a time in the heart of Las Piñas, stood a modest yet iconic mall that became more than just a commercial hub—it became a part of our lives. RFC Las Piñas, or Remarville Family Center, wasn’t your usual sprawling megamall, but it was ours. It was home to countless memories, laughter, and weekend rituals for many born and raised in Las Piñas.

🏗️ A Look Back: The Glory Days

Built in the late 1980s, RFC Las Piñas quickly became a landmark along Alabang-Zapote Road. It was the go-to spot before SM Southmall and other big malls dominated the south. RFC gave us a taste of entertainment, convenience, and comfort—all in one place.

From the budget-friendly cinemas where we watched our first movies, to Wimpy’s and Hot Loops that served our favorite snacks, RFC was more than a mall—it was a lifestyle. Remember the escalators that squeaked? The toy stores we begged our parents to enter? The family lunches after Sunday mass at nearby churches? These were the simple joys RFC gave us.

🎠 Childhood Memories Etched in Time

For many Las Piñeros:

  • 🎬 It was where we saw our first movie with friends, or sneaked in after school.

  • 🛍️ Where we bought our first gift using our own allowance at the humble department store.

  • 🍩 Where we had weekend treats with our parents at the ground-floor food stalls.

  • 💇‍♂️ Where we got our first haircut or school supplies before the opening of classes.

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Where families gathered, even in its small space, because it felt like home.

As kids, RFC felt big. It had everything we needed back then.

🏚️ The Sad Goodbye

Fast forward to 2023, after years of dwindling foot traffic, wear and tear, and changing times, RFC Las Piñas was officially demolished. Bit by bit, we watched it go down—a literal piece of our childhood crumbling before our eyes. What was once a buzzing community space is now but an empty lot, a shell of what it used to be.

Gone are the flickering signs, the noisy arcades, and the smell of freshly popped popcorn. In its place, silence. But in our hearts? Loud echoes of laughter and memories that time can never erase.

🕯️ A Tribute

RFC may no longer stand physically, but its mark is permanent in the hearts of every Las Piñero who grew up with it. It was where our childhood lived. It was where we learned, grew, laughed, and loved—without realizing those moments would one day become the good old days.
