Paluto sa Dampa Paranaque

Kiddos were craving seafood since the other day, so we decided to eat our dinner in the infamous DAMPA Paluto here in Parañaque. The place has been existing as far as I remember way back 1990s and is popularly known as a seafood market with lots of restos beside it where you and your friends could dine and have your seafood bought from the nearby market cooked the way you requested it.

Each Paluto house does have its own specialties which they will suggest if you run out of ideas on what dish you wanted on your plates of seafood. Prices also differed in every kilo and in every type of menu. You can click this link for the menu and prices Munch Punch.com. By the way, we choose Shaylin II resto to prepare our seafood since this one is very close to the market and offers a good price for our meal.

We enjoyed our meal and the service they gave us was satisfactory service.

Below is our menu and we indeed love it;

New Year 2016

Dear Lord Jesus,

As we approach the end of 2015, we pause to reflect on the journey we have traveled this year. We thank You for the gift of life and for every moment we have experienced—both the joyful and the challenging.

Thank You for the blessings that have filled our days, for the love of family and friends, and for the laughter and memories created. We cherish the opportunities that have come our way and the lessons learned through trials and tribulations.

In moments of sorrow, we seek Your comfort and healing. We remember those who have faced difficulties and loss this year, asking for Your peace to envelop them. Help us to be a source of support and kindness to those in need.

As we look forward to a new year, we ask for Your guidance. Grant us wisdom to make choices that reflect Your love and purpose. Inspire us to set intentions that promote compassion, understanding, and unity within our communities.

May we carry the lessons of 2015 into the new year, embracing both the challenges and the triumphs as part of our growth. Fill our hearts with hope as we step into 2016, ready to face whatever lies ahead with faith and courage.

Thank you for Your grace and for being our constant source of strength. May we continue to seek Your light in the days to come.

In Your Name, we pray.

Amen.

Mercury Drug 2016 Diary

I got my Mercury Drug Suki Diary yesterday with Jedo from their branch in Moonwalk Las Pinas.

Super love and like it!

I like the cover so much and it changes a lot most especially the content inside. It now has a lot more pages to write on. It also contains colorful tips expressed in cartoons.

Suki diaries improved a lot year after year after year and they nailed it this year. I'm giving them a whopping 10 stars for nice, colorful, and neatly pages on this diary.

Good Job! More power and keep on improving.

Happy Mommy

My Buging-ging arrived from school today and very excited in telling me that she got a 15/15 score on her Language quiz.

Her eyes sparkled while telling me about the news, I told her that I am so proud of her.

She hugged and kissed me saying "I love you, mommy". I know you are proud of me.

Thank you dear Lord for such treasure, these little ones are indeed your blessings to me.

Seeing them every day grow shows your love and hope that you have given me.

Your promise was everlasting and true.

Help me dear Lord to be a better mom for these children- wonderful gift and priceless treasure that you have given me.

Kare-Kare

Kare Kare is my Sweet Heart's Favorite Dish

Kare-Kare is a popular Filipino dish that is known for its rich, savory flavor. It is often considered a comfort food and is enjoyed by many Filipinos during special occasions and gatherings. Kare-Kare typically consists of tender beef or oxtail, vegetables, and a thick peanut sauce. The sauce is made from toasted ground peanuts, annatto (achuete) seeds for color, garlic, onions, and other seasonings.

One of the key ingredients in Kare-Kare is bagoong, a fermented shrimp paste that adds a unique and salty flavor to the dish. The combination of the nutty peanut sauce, tender meat, and an assortment of vegetables, such as eggplant, bok choy, and string beans, creates a delicious and hearty dish.

Kare-Kare is commonly served with steamed rice and is often enjoyed with a side of shrimp paste for added flavor. It is a dish that brings people together, as it is traditionally served family-style, allowing everyone to enjoy the different components of the dish.

While Kare-Kare is traditionally made with beef or oxtail, variations of the dish can also include other proteins such as pork, chicken, or seafood. Some people even prefer vegetarian versions, using tofu or other meat substitutes.

Overall, Kare-Kare is a beloved and flavorful dish in Filipino cuisine, showcasing the country's diverse flavors and culinary traditions. Its rich taste and comforting qualities make it a favorite among Filipinos and those who have had the pleasure of trying it.

How to cook Kare kare?

Cooking Kare-Kare requires a few steps to achieve its delicious flavors.

Here's a simplified recipe to guide you:

Ingredients:
- 1 kg of beef (or oxtail) cut into serving pieces
- 2 tablespoons of cooking oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons of annatto (achuete) seeds
- 1 cup of peanut butter
- 4 cups of water or beef broth
- 1 eggplant, cut into thick slices
- 1 bundle of bok choy or pechay, ends trimmed
- 1 cup of string beans, cut into 2-inch pieces
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Bagoong (shrimp paste) for serving
- Optional: 1 banana blossom, sliced

Instructions:
1. In a large pot, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions and garlic until fragrant and translucent.

2. Add the beef (or oxtail) to the pot and cook until browned. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking.

3. Dissolve the annatto seeds in a little bit of water, then pour the mixture into the pot. This will give the dish its characteristic orange color.

4. Add the water or beef broth to the pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer until the meat is tender. This may take around 1-2 hours, depending on the meat used.

5. Once the meat is tender, add the peanut butter to the pot. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for another 10 minutes.

6. Add the eggplant, bok choy (or pechay), string beans, and optional banana blossom. Simmer until the vegetables are cooked but still slightly crisp.

7. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the peanut butter or water/broth as needed to achieve your desired consistency and flavor.

8. Serve the Kare-Kare hot with steamed rice and a side of bagoong (shrimp paste).

Remember, these are general instructions, and you can always adjust the ingredients and proportions based on your taste preferences.

Enjoy your homemade Kare-Kare!

Family Reunion

It's been awhile when me and my siblings lived in one roof.

Where staying together means chaos and alot of fun....
Where we fight for a certain things, borrowed clothes or shoes or bags or short is a crime,
Where we eat breakfast, lunch and dinner all together,
Where we used to do the same stuff together as a playmates,
Where we sleep on the same bed, same time and be awaken at the same hour,

Where some of us became best buddy and best enemies at the same time.

I miss those moment, now most of us has its own family and seeing each other revived something in us.

Thank you so much dear Lord for our family.
We may not be perfect yet we know that we indeed love each other.
