Thankful

Feeling blessed at Redemptorist Church, Baclaran Parañaque

Every day is something that we should be thankful for...

Baclaran Church, formally known as the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, is a significant religious and cultural landmark located in Parañaque City, Philippines. It is one of the most popular pilgrimage sites in the country, attracting thousands of devotees and tourists each week.

The church is dedicated to the veneration of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, an icon that depicts the Virgin Mary holding the child Jesus. This icon is believed to have miraculous healing powers and is regarded as a source of comfort and hope for those in need.

Baclaran Church holds regular novena masses every Wednesday, where devotees come to offer their prayers and seek divine intervention. These masses are conducted in both English and Tagalog, accommodating visitors from different walks of life.

Aside from being a place of worship, the church complex also features a bustling outdoor market known as "Baclaran tiangge." Here, visitors can find a wide array of religious items, clothing, accessories, and other goods for sale. The tiangge is known for its vibrant atmosphere, attracting shoppers looking for bargains and unique finds.

Baclaran Church serves as a beacon of faith and compassion, not only for the local community but for people from all over the world. It stands as a symbol of devotion and unity, offering solace, guidance, and a sense of belonging to all who seek spiritual nourishment within its walls.

Sky is Crying...

The sky is crying today

12.30.18 Sunday

So are we two years ago...

I dedicate all these photographs that I took along Baclaran today to my only Brother Bear who passed away 2 years ago on this same date of 30 December.

Baclaran, Pasay City

"Raindrops are the whispers of the sky, gently caressing the earth with their tears, bringing forth renewal and cleansing."

"When the sky is crying, it is as if nature itself is shedding tears, allowing us to find solace in the embrace of the rain."

"In the symphony of rain, every drop carries a melody, composing a beautiful song that nourishes the soul."

"Rain is a reminder that even the heavens weep, showing us that it's okay to let our own tears flow, for they too hold the power to heal."

"As the rain falls from above, it washes away the worries that burden our hearts, making way for the blooming of hope and rejuvenation."

"A rainy day is not a gloomy day; it is an invitation to slow down, to reflect, and find beauty in the rhythm of life."

"When the sky weeps, it paints the world with glistening hues, turning ordinary moments into extraordinary scenes of enchantment."

"Raindrops are like tiny messengers from the heavens, reminding us that even during the darkest times, there is still grace and beauty."

"The sound of rain is nature's lullaby, soothing our weary souls and washing away the noise of the world."

"Rain is a gentle reminder that growth often requires both sunshine and storms. It nourishes the seeds of possibility and helps them flourish."

"When the sky cries, it is nature's way of expressing its emotions, teaching us the importance of embracing and honoring our own feelings."

"Rainstorms can be fierce, but they display the undeniable strength of nature, reminding us of our own resilience in the face of adversity."

"The rain's touch is like a million gentle kisses from the sky, awakening our senses and connecting us to the vastness of the universe."

"A rainy day is the perfect time to curl up with a book, sip on a warm cup of tea, and let the rhythm of the raindrops transport us to a world of imagination."

"The rain brings a sense of unity to all living beings, washing away the boundaries that separate us and reminding us of our interconnectedness."

"Just as the sky sheds tears, we too must allow ourselves to release pent-up emotions, for it is through these tears that we find healing and growth."

"The rain cleanses not only the earth but also our hearts, purifying us from within and allowing us to start anew with a fresh perspective."

"When the sky weeps, it reminds us that vulnerability is not a weakness but a testament to our capacity to feel deeply and authentically."

"Rain offers a gentle pause in the chaos of life, inviting us to slow down, breathe, and find peace in the simplicity of the present moment."

"The sound of rain falling onto leaves is nature's orchestra, a rhythmic serenade that awakens our senses and brings us closer to the harmony of the universe."

"Raindrops are like little miracles, each carrying the endless possibilities of growth, transformation, and rebirth."

"Rainfall is a dance between heaven and earth, a choreographed performance that celebrates the delicate balance and interplay of the elements."

Maty's Tapsilog

Maty's Tapsilog or Tapsilogan has been a name long to remember. When you mentioned let's go to Don Galo, Parañaque of course the place rings a bell- it is the home of Maty's Tapsilogan.

I used to eat in this place ages ago. I can say that I indeed grew up in this place and of course been a witness to how delicious, tasty, yummy, and incomparable their beef tapa is. Let's not forget to mentioned their barbeque as well. Beef Tapa and Pork Barbeques are my fave viand together with their sinangag. Up to this time, I still come back but the joy that I have before was not the same anymore.

Over time, a lot of competitors rose in the same field offering the same menu and being a food fan- I tried all of those to look for the same taste that Maty's Tapa had previously. And indeed, Maty's Tapa already lost in the game. Now, it saddened me to look at their Tapa and Barbeque being served at our table. The joy and the excitement I had previously are no longer there. It lacks food presentation, it loses its appeal or maybe I am expecting too much now since my eyes and taste buds traveled so many places- see many food porn and taste them to check if their taste goes with the appearance.

It's heartbreaking to take photos of their food, as you know it doesn't have any appeal to me. The beef tapa and barbeque do not have the taste that has been expected from them. The owner needs to re-check their infamous tapa and barbeque or perhaps needs to go back to their old recipe. And one last thing, they do not serve sabaw anymore.

LIKES: food comes in cheap

DISLIKES: food presentation is very poor, the barbeque was salty well, in fact, it should be sweet and it looks like it has been cooked for a long time, tapa tasted like any ordinary fried beef, the ambiance-un-kept, there are pieces of rice in the floor-chairs and table edges, un-ventilated place it really makes it uncomfy eating in here- I saw several busted electric fans need to be repaired, food served longer from your expected serving time, they do not serve sabaw anymore.
