While browsing old Pinoy movies I stumbled across this one that depicts the real situation of a movie extra. Their struggle during takes, transportation going to the shooting location, food being offered to them, and worst those comments being thrown at them demoralizing their dignity and degrading them as a person were really traumatizing. This movie Ekstra showcases the life of an individual who wanted to make it in the world of movies or who simply wanted to make a living to meet their needs.
I love the full cast of big names such as Vilma Santos-Recto, Cherie Gil, Pilar Pilapil, Piolo Pascual, Marian Rivera, and others who give life and meaning to this movie. Vilma Santos touched the very core of how a movie Ekstra has been treated during filming in any soap opera or movie. They were given less importance when in fact they played an essential role as a crowd, maid, security guard, and many others. The movie depicts the harsh reality of being an Ekstra and how they live their life away from the camera.
Indeed, a very good movie and worth watching.
