Rest Day be like

My rest day isn't complete if I don't have a moment spent with my kiddos.

Would that be doing household chores, doing gala, eating out, seeing a movie at home, doing assignments, or anything under the sun?

My rest day is intended to do household chores and spend time with my kiddos. Today we went out to visit my Brother Bear in Golden Heaven Memorial Park. Before proceeding there we bought something to eat like doughnuts and chippy.

Uniwide Sales Metro Mall Las Piñas City

This mall has been part of my growing up years in Las Piñas City.

I can say that this actually at some point in time, surpassed SM Southmall in terms of known stores that house in its building. Location-wise very accessible near to schools and subdivisions, with huge commercial space occupied by well-known stores and fast-food chains such as Pizza Hut, Shakeys, and Dunkin Donuts to name a few.

Jollibee occupied two food hubs in this mall, the first one located at the very front of the mall and the other one near the supermarket. I also remember National Bookstores occupied the left-wing front side of this mall where I loved to spend hours reading their newly released hardbound books sniffing those pages and feeling comfy sitting on the cold stone floor.

I also liked the EUROLAND that they have here!!!

Much better than what SM Southmall (Story Land) had way back then. Euroland is an indoor mini theme park that caters to rides roller coasters and souvenir shops and can also hold events as the place is indeed huge. They made it look like a fairy tale land plucked out from a book that comes to life.

Awww, I miss those days when the good old glory of this mall is incomparable.

Visited this place the other day 2nd AUG 2017 and felt sad about what I saw. The entire mall is just one of the many establishments which I normally label "Beauty in Decay" or "Beauty Left for Decay". Its old glory was gone yet still reflected how beautiful this mall was way back then. I saw dilapidated walls, and ceilings, empty stores waiting for occupants, and lonely hallways that used to be full of people going in and out of this mall.

No air-conditioning working during our visit and only a few areas have lights turned on. It kinda makes the place more creepy, scary, and lonely. We actually parked in the basement which gives me an eerie feeling. The entire basement that used to be so crowded and with no vacancy is empty, dark, full of rubbish, and lonely.

It made me feel like I was in a zombie movie that any time a zombie might come out from the dark and attack us. The entire mall was unkept and left for decay as you cannot see any intention of fixing it.

It is still open though, there's a lot of bargain stuff such as 2nd hand clothes, and brand new carpets that are so cheap yet the same quality in a high-end mall. The textile department is still open, and furniture and other appliances can also be found. Home decor and furniture that this mall boasted even before are still here which I really really liked. Huge selection of Kitchen Utensils and some school supplies that came in so cheap.

This is what I really really liked about this mall. China plates, mugs, and saucers were still here. And of course, we hoarded some of these. Huge decor jars and plastic fauna, marbled finish figurines, and other stuff can also be found.

These were all available and selling at a very low price here inside Uniwide Sales Warehouse.

As this mall has been changed totally and known establishment left their units years ago, bargain stores started to occupy a large portion of this mall.

In a simple word, a small portion of Baclaran and Divisoria merchandise is in this mall. Simplehan pa natin- Para na itong abandonadong establishmento na ang laman ay yung makikita mo sa Baclaran.

Overall, this mall's old glory was indeed gone. I do hope that Uniwide Sales management will be able to renovate and maintain all of its mall chains across the country. They already have the name, all they have to do is to make that name sound good again and of course, a lot of money should be invested to make their malls look and feel like any other high-end malls just like before.

LIKES: Bargain goodies that you cannot find in any other mall. Such as home furniture, kitchen utensils, home decor, school supplies, textile

DISLIKES: not well lighted, no ventilation, dilapidated structure, dirty CRs, broken roofs, and ceilings

Just recently, I made a visit to my dear friend Manong Andy in this jailhouse. I haven't been into any jailhouse before so I am a little scared coming in here. Unknowingly, I brought a box of groceries full of food, biscuits, and toiletries with me which is prohibited. I didn't know that there were a lot of restrictions and prohibited items in my box so I ended up un-boxing it and transferring it to see-through plastic containers that cost me 600 hundred bucks.

I admire how the guards secure the area and I have no complaints about it. The process was indeed very exhausting, tiring, and draining, most especially when lining up in front of the gate under the heat of the sun and of course rain with NO shade at all. And also it depends on the jail guards how many numbers of people they will let in. Another thing is that foods were being examined thoroughly however this could also be done most easily by or through x-ray machines. I don't blame them, as there are indeed detainees' relatives who were involved in putting drugs or other things prohibited in foods and other edible stuff.

So upon arrival there, I indeed had no idea of what was allowed and not. I do hope that this post of mine will be of help to those relatives and family members who are 1st-time visitors to this place. Let's start on - what to bring and what not. Cellphones, wallets, SIM cards, and watches are not allowed for visitors so you have to take them off before they will allow you to go inside. The guards were strict and would not let anyone pass by the security area bringing those mentioned items with them. So better yet before you go in front of the gate you don't have those things with you. The store near the gate actually serves as the deposit area such as your mobile phones, wallet, bags, etc. The woman there will give you numbers that will serve as your tag and proof of your deposit stuff and of course, it is not free. You have to pay a fee of Php 30.00 and also the amount of money you could take inside is only up to 1K or one thousand pesos otherwise they won't allow you in and will advise you to go out to lessen the value of your money.

Upon entering the corrections main gate, you will be stamped in your skin as proof of the visitor's pass. You will be asked to provide an ID, take note "Only Government Issued IDs are Accepted". Then you will be asked to line up for body inspection and food inspection before being allowed to proceed in the visitor's area and meet up with the detainee.

Let me provide details so that others will be informed.
