*Be What The World Needs*

Matthew 5:13–14 (NKJV)
“You are the salt of the earth… You are the light of the world.
A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.”

πŸ”‘ BIG IDEA:
God doesn’t just call us not only to *believe* — He calls us to *influence*.
In a broken world full of confusion, chaos, and compromise, Jesus declares: **YOU are what the world needs.**

Jesus did not ask you to try to be salt and light. He said you are. That means whether you use it or not, what He placed inside of you is already powerful. The only question is, are you showing up with it? Let’s break it down.

Salt preserves, heals and awakens flavor that would otherwise stay hidden. But salt that stays in the shaker too long gets damp, stuck, and useless. Jesus said, “If the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men (Matthew 5v13 NKJV).

That’s not just a warning, it’s a call. You were never meant to stay stuck in the shaker. You were never meant to hoard revelation, keep truth to yourself, or stay safe in the pew. If the Word has enriched your life, it is time to sprinkle that flavor on somebody else… on your job, in your family, in your community, in your timeline. Let the flavor flow!

I. YOU ARE THE SALT OF THE EARTH πŸ§‚

**(v.13)**
Salt in biblical times was valuable — it preserved, purified, and added flavor.

➤ Salt Preserves
* In a decaying world, Christians are called to preserve truth, justice, and righteousness.
* Our presence should keep spiritual and moral decay from spreading.

➤ Salt Heals
* Salt was used to clean wounds. Our words and actions should bring **healing**, not harm.
* Be a peacemaker, not a divider. Speak life, not destruction.

➤ Salt Adds Flavor
* Is your faith making people thirst for more of God?
* The world should notice a difference in how we love, serve, forgive, and live.

πŸ“ *Challenge:*
Have I lost my “saltiness”?
Am I blending in too much that I’m no longer preserving or flavoring the culture?

II. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD πŸ’‘
**(v.14)**
Jesus calls Himself the Light — and then tells us *we are too*.
Why? Because His light now shines through us.

Light does not panic in darkness, light knows what it is. Jesus said, “A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden… they do not light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house” (Matthew 5:14–15 NKJV).

This world is growing darker, but that isn’t a reason to withdraw, that’s your cue to shine. Your light isn’t for private moments only; your light is for impact, visibility and influence. And hear this… your light is not about attention, it’s about direction. Jesus said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV).

➤ Light Exposes
* Light reveals truth. It uncovers lies.
* Let’s live lives of integrity, showing others the way out of darkness.

➤ Light Guides
* Think of a lighthouse — it helps ships navigate in storms.
* Your faith, your choices, your hope can guide someone back to Jesus.

➤ Light Comforts
* Light brings warmth, peace, and clarity.
* Be a calm, joyful, steady presence in an anxious world.

πŸ“ *Challenge:*
Am I shining boldly or hiding my faith out of fear, comfort, or compromise?

III. A CITY ON A HILL CANNOT BE HIDDEN πŸ™
* This is a call to **visibility**, not **perfection**.
* Don’t dim your light because you feel unworthy — let it shine because HE is worthy.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
– *Matt. 5:16*

πŸ”„ APPLICATION:

* The world doesn’t need more opinions — it needs more people who **reflect Jesus**.

* Don’t just go to church — **be the church**. Don’t just consume the Word — **live it out**.

* In your family, school, work, or community:

**BE what the world needs.**

The goal isn’t applause, it’s glory. The gospel isn’t just good news to believe, it’s good news to carry. And in a world full of anxiety, division, and confusion, your salt and light still matters. So shake the salt, hold up the light and be what the world needs.

πŸ™ CLOSING PRAYER:
“Lord, help us not to blend in, but to stand out for Your glory. Make us salt that preserves and heals, and light that leads others to You. In every place You’ve planted us — help us be what the world needs. Amen.”

1 Peter 5:7 πŸ™

“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”

πŸ™ Prayer Inspired by 1 Peter 5:7 πŸ™

Loving Father,
Thank You for being a God who cares deeply for me.
When the weight of life feels too heavy to carry,
remind me that I don’t have to bear it alone.

Today, I lay down every worry, every fear, every anxious thought at Your feet.
I trust in Your care — steady, gentle, and faithful.
Help me to surrender control and rest in Your peace,
knowing that You are working even in the unseen.

Give me the courage to release what burdens me,
and the faith to believe that Your love will sustain me.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

Wild Flour MOA

I had high expectations given the restaurant’s upscale pricing, but unfortunately, the experience did not live up to it.

The food is overpriced** for what you get.
Portions are **small**, and overall, the dishes are quite **underwhelming**
— Nothing stood out aside from the squid ink pasta, which I did enjoy.

* The **menu is very limited**,
offering few options, and surprisingly, it comes printed on plain paper **without any pictures**.
As a visual diner, I found this disappointing, especially considering the premium price points.

* **Service was lacking**.
Staff were not engaging, couldn’t provide helpful recommendations, and didn't present the food when it was served — they simply placed it on the table without identifying the dishes.

* Additionally,
**Our food was not served together.**
We had to wait for other dishes to arrive, which made the experience feel disjointed and poorly managed.

If you're looking for great food, service, and an atmosphere that’s worth your money,
I highly recommend **Tablo Kitchen x Cafe** instead — a far better experience overall.

**Disappointing Experience — Not Worth the Price**

"Two Mothers" – Exodus 2:1–10

Daang Kalikasan Sta. Cruz, Zambales

"Two Mothers" – Exodus 2:1–10

**Scripture Focus:** *Exodus 2:1–10*
English Standard Version

The Birth of Moses
2 Now a man from the house of Levi went and took as his wife a Levite woman. 2 The woman conceived and bore a son, and when she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him three months. 3 When she could hide him no longer, she took for him a basket made of bulrushes[a] and daubed it with bitumen and pitch. She put the child in it and placed it among the reeds by the river bank. 4 And his sister stood at a distance to know what would be done to him. 5 Now the daughter of Pharaoh came down to bathe at the river, while her young women walked beside the river. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her servant woman, and she took it. 6 When she opened it, she saw the child, and behold, the baby was crying. She took pity on him and said, “This is one of the Hebrews' children.” 7 Then his sister said to Pharaoh's daughter, “Shall I go and call you a nurse from the Hebrew women to nurse the child for you?” 8 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Go.” So the girl went and called the child's mother. 9 And Pharaoh's daughter said to her, “Take this child away and nurse him for me, and I will give you your wages.” So the woman took the child and nursed him. 10 When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”

**Key Theme:**
*God's providence through the love and courage of two mothers.*

---

In this powerful passage, we witness the early life of **Moses**—the man God would later use to deliver His people from Egypt. But before Moses could part the Red Sea or speak before Pharaoh, his life was saved and shaped by two courageous women: **his birth mother** and **his adoptive mother**.

### πŸ” The Story at a Glance:

A Levite woman gives birth to a son during a time when Pharaoh has ordered all Hebrew baby boys to be killed. She hides him for three months, and when she can hide him no longer, she places him in a basket and sets it afloat on the Nile—entrusting his life to God.

By divine arrangement, Pharaoh’s daughter discovers the baby. Moved with compassion, she decides to raise him as her own, unknowingly hiring **his birth mother** to nurse and care for him in his early years.

---

### πŸ’‘ Key Reflections:

**1. The Courage of a Mother (Jochebed):**

Moses’ birth mother (later named Jochebed in Exodus 6:20) showed immense bravery. She defied Pharaoh’s decree out of love and faith. She risked everything to preserve the life of her child.

**2. The Compassion of Another (Pharaoh’s Daughter):**

Despite being the daughter of the ruler who ordered the execution of Hebrew boys, she chose mercy. She didn't just spare Moses—she raised him as royalty. Her heart was open to God’s prompting even in a palace of idolatry and oppression.

**3. God’s Divine Plan Through Human Hearts:**

God used the love of two mothers—one Hebrew, one Egyptian—to prepare a deliverer. Both women played vital roles in protecting Moses and preparing him for his future purpose.

---

### ✨ Life Application:

* **God often uses unexpected people**—even those from outside our faith or background—to carry out His will.

* **A mother’s influence is powerful.** Both women, in different ways, helped shape the man Moses would become.

* **When you feel powerless, entrust your situation to God.** Like Jochebed placing Moses in the basket, sometimes faith means letting go and trusting God’s plan.

---

### πŸ™ Prayer:

Lord, thank You for the gift of godly women who love courageously and act with compassion. Teach us to trust Your plans, even when we can’t see the outcome. Use us—like both mothers of Moses—to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Amen.
